This Herrerasaurus figure (CollectA #88371) is from the CollectA Prehistoric Life Collection. Approximately 6cm tall and 12cm long. WARNING: Small Parts. Not for children under 3 years. One of the earliest known dinosaurs, Herrerasaurus fossils have been found in Argentinian rocks from the middle Triassic. It was a small predatory relative of later giant theropods like Tyrannosaurus or Allosaurus. Unlike its larger cousins Herrerasaurus would have been far from the top of the food chain, living in the shadows of other large reptiles that were more like crocodiles. It did, however, represent the standard for what would turn out to be a very successful model for later dinosaurs.
